large puddle betw doors 3+2 |
|
water puddle inside gate
where is this water coming from?? since downspout is being pumped to the street.
some from the driveway channel? ground water saturated? |
|
Place that pump where the puddle is deepest. That way, less water can get into the garage. |
|
note puddling in front yard--requires a french drain |
|
no water coming out of that surface drain pipe in the rear corner--strange |
|
the channel drain in the driveway--connects to what??
I will dig down to see if I can find the connection to a pipe. I already poked a long screwdriver into the mud, and felt nothing down 8 inches, except maybe something hard right below that channel. If that is a PVC pipe, it felt rather small like 1-2 inch pipe.
If the channel drain in the driveway will allow the water in the big puddle to convey towards the gate, this would be the first step to solving the problem. |
I did stick something into the channel drain, and it seemed to be 3-4 inches deep. pretty substantial. as if there might be a 3-4 inch pipe embedded in the concrete driveway.
outlet from channel drain goes down below slab, then 45 degree angle towards the fence.
the small hole in middle, i hit a big root 3-4 inch diameter. but no sign of the plastic drain pipe.
dug where the corrugated drain pipe might go towards the fence, but did not find it.
